Player spending on sports betting in Mississippi fell for the fourth straight month in July, but the state’s handle also fell year-over-year.
Consumers wagered a total of $18.3m (£15.4m/€18.2m) on sports in a single month, down 27.1% from $25.1m in June this year and up 40.4% from $30.7m in July 2021 Decreased.
Revenue improved month-over-month, up 19.5% to $2.5 million from $2.1 million in June, but the figure lags 13.8% from the $2.9 million reported last July.
Coastal Casino is once again the busiest of the state’s sports betting venues, attracting a total of $11.4 million in wagers and generating $1.5 million in revenue.
Player spending in the central casino reached $4.1 and revenue reached $481,362, while the northern casino received $2.8 million in bets and recorded $513,693 in revenue for the month.
Baseball attracted the largest portion of bets in July, with consumers betting $6.5 million in coastal casinos, $1.9 million in central casinos and $1.6 million in northern casinos.
