Illinois investigators seize slot machines and cash in illegal gambling raid

Michigan state investigators seized 67 gambling machines and more than $10,000 in cash after raids on two suspected illegal gambling operations in Flint.

A raid took place on August 18 at The Cellular Vault and Cellular Bank, where agents seized 11 video slot machines, 56 computers, and suspected gambling proceeds and gift cards worth $10,141.

The machines, cash, related equipment and business records were removed as part of a joint investigation of the two businesses by the Michigan Attorney General and the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB).

Cellular Vault has 39 computers used to play slot style games, Cellular Bank found 11 slot machines and 13 computers used to play slot style games it was done.

The investigation also found that Cellular Bank offers its customers cards with PIN numbers that allow customers to gamble online from off-site locations, including their homes.

“MGCB has received several anonymous tips regarding two locations in Flint. We appreciate the public’s help in rooting out possible illegal gambling activity,” said Henry Williams, executive director of MGCB. says.

“People at purported brick-and-mortar casinos do not have access to the consumer protections necessary for legal and regulated gambling.

The latest round of confiscations came after investigators removed 100 gambling devices and $29,200 in alleged gambling profits from two other brick-and-mortar casinos in April. was broken.
