USA Today publisher Gannett alters Tipico deal, removing exclusivity

US media giant Gannett has changed its affiliate partnership with Tipico to remove the operator’s exclusivity.

Gannett, which owns the nation’s leading newspaper by circulation, USA Today, and an extensive network of local newspapers, signed a deal with German market leader Tipico last year.

The operator has pledged $90 million in media spending over a five-year deal, but Gannett will also receive referral fees for customers who place bets after being directed to Tipico from Gannett properties.

The agreement superseded the Gannett agreement. partnership MGM-Entain’s partnership with joint venture BetMGM will see the media business promoting Tipico odds on BetMGM’s behalf.
