Checkd names Oddschanger founder Tyrrell as UK media director

Online gambling business Checkd Group has announced the appointment of Oddschanger founder Will Tyrrell as its new director of UK media.

In this role, Tyrrell will lead the Group’s UK strategy and seek to establish new partnerships with market operators and media organisations.

Tyrrell has been with Checkd since their acquisition of online sports betting hub Oddschanger in August 2017. During this time, Tyrrell has served as Content Manager, Head of Commercials, Head of Content, and Head of Marketing.

Tyrrell, who founded Oddschanger in July 2011, also worked as a social media consultant for Ear to the Ground and an account manager for Mojofuel.

“The past five years at Checkd Group have been exciting both personally and as a company. We have continued to develop new and existing partnerships,” said Tyrrell.

“As we aim to deliver highly engaging content through a wide range of channels and continue to innovate to serve both our partners and the sport-enthusiastic community, we have taken on this new role to lead our UK strategy. I am very much looking forward to taking over.”

Tyrrell’s appointment comes after April’s Checkd named former Rank Group and Sky Betting & Gaming executive Ben Warn as the new non-executive chairman.
