The Betting and Gaming Council (BGC), the industry body for the UK’s regulated betting and gaming sector, has announced historic private bookmaker Fitzdares as its newest member.
Operating since 1882, Fitzdares will work with BGC and its network of members to influence decision-making in UK industry.
The bookmaker will allow its customers to place bets via its official app, website, live chat, SMS, email and phone, and in 2020 will be in Mayfair, a venue for members to watch live sports. Launched the first “Fitzdare’s Club”.
Earlier this year, Fitzdares launched a second store in the Cotswolds, complete with an 18-hole golf course.
Fitzdares CEO William Woodhams said, “As a medium-sized independent boutique business, we wanted our voices to be heard.” It gives me the opportunity to be at the table where decisions are being made.”
Fitzdares also announced this year its expansion into the Ontario regulated market, one of the first licensed operators.
Fitzdare’s confirmation as a new member comes after BGC earlier this week called on the UK’s incoming prime minister to tackle rising energy prices that could have a potentially “devastating” impact on the land-based gambling sector. It was broken.
