Bet-at-home to permanently exit GB after licence suspension – Legal

Bet-at-home has announced that it will “waive” the license and will permanently withdraw from the GB market a few days after the license is suspended.

In a message to customers, Bet-at-home stated that it could not bet on the company after July 6th.

This is because the UK Gaming Commission suspended the Bet-at-home license on July 7, citing suspicion of social responsibility and failure to prevent money laundering as key factors in the decision.

At that time, the Commission also announced a review of Bet-at-home operations.

After the review was completed, the business may have been allowed to resume, but he said it would not.

“Unfortunately, we have decided to waive the business license granted by the UK Gaming Commission and withdraw from the UK market,” read the statement on the operator’s website.

“Therefore, as of 16:20 UK time on July 6th, we were not able to bet, play or deposit with us. In addition, new registrations are not allowed.”

Prior to the suspension of the license, Bet-at-home has suspended the GB Affiliate Program, the only marketing channel in the country.

According to Bet-at-home, players will be able to withdraw directly from their betting account until 10 pm on September 30th. From this date, players will need to contact Bet-at-Home directly for funding with the June 30, 2023 deadline.

Following this, the operator stated that all remaining funds would be sent to Gamble Aware, a charity that harms gambling.
