Córdoba opens tender process for 10 online gambling licences – Licensing

Cordova, Argentina’s second most populous state, has begun the bidding process for 10 online gambling licenses.

Participants bid on one of the 10 online gambling licenses offered, each valid for 15 years.

All bidders must provide “legal documents, legal capacity” [and] “History of technical and economic / financial capacity to run online games”, and provision of license fees.

Operators must submit bids by July 5th, and the license plan will be effective from September 14th.

This license allows operators to offer online casino games and bet on sports, horse racing, and certain non-sports events. A 10% total game revenue tax rate applies to each industry.

Cordova, with a population of 3.3 million, passed a bill in January to legalize online gambling after it was introduced at the end of 2021. The original version of the bill allowed only 5 licenses.

Argentina is allowed to regulate gambling on a state-by-state basis.

Buenos Aires licensed seven operators last year, and online gambling in the city of Buenos Aires officially began in December 2021.
