The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) has announced the appointment of Michael Fitzsimmons as the new executive director of gambling products.
Fitz Simmons will launch a new role on September 1st and will be responsible for leading and promoting the HKJC betting business, overseeing horse racing and football betting and the Mark 6 lottery.
This role also includes the collaborative development of the China Sports Lottery with Fitz Simmons, which leads the organization’s international mixed business.
In addition, Fitz Simmons will be a member of the HKJC Board of Directors and will report directly to Chief Executive Officer Winfried Engelbrecht Bresguez.
Fitz Simmons has been with the HKJC since February 2021 and is responsible for the football trading division.
Prior to this, Fitz Simmons spent more than six years in the Stars Group, which is now part of Flutter Entertainment. His roles included Director of International Transactions and Operations for BetStars, Fox Bet, Sky Bet International Business, and Director of Commercials.
Fitz Simmons has also been a trading director of Gambit Research for over two years, a director of Sporting Hedges, a trading manager of Cantor Fitzgerald, and a trader of Spreadex.
“With our extensive knowledge of sports betting and the application of artificial intelligence to trading, Fitz Simmons will help keep the club’s betting business growing and developing,” said HKJC.
