Endre Nesset becomes GAN’s new president of B2C – People moves

Endre Nesset succeeds Anders Karlsen as B2C President of gambling solutions provider GAN and its Coolbet sportsbook.

Nesset will transition from his previous position as Senior Vice President of Global Sports at GAN and Coolbet. Before he joined Coolbet in 2020, he served as Sports Director at the Gaming Innovation Group (GiG).

Carlsen, who resigned, was one of Coolbet’s first employees and served as Chief Operating Officer at its founding in 2015. Since GAN acquired Coolbet in January 2021, Karlsen has played a leading role in the launch of his GAN Sports in the US.

Nesset says: We have a great team and an exceptional platform that are perfectly positioning us for long-term growth. “

GAN CEO Dermot Smurfit said:

“Since acquiring Coolbet, the product has performed spectacularly, and Anders is laying the groundwork for what is expected to be a strong and exciting market acceptance for GAN Sports’ products in the near future. I would also like to congratulate Endre for building an incredibly strong sportsbook organization here and so deserving of his new role.”

Earlier this month, GAN lowered its full-year revenue and profit forecasts after disappointing results in the second quarter of its fiscal year 2022.

Chief Executive Officer Dermot Smurfit also revealed that the business has already cut headcount in response to “current market dynamics.”

Group income for the quarter reached $35m (£29.1m/€34.5m), up 1.7% from $34.4m in the same period last year.

B2B revenue increased 36.5% to $14.2 million. This was supported by growth in development services and other segments, but B2C games revenue declined 13.3% to $20.8 million due to lower sports margins and unfavorable currency movements.
