Betano secures Ontario licence – Online casino

Owned by Kaizen Gaming, Betano has obtained an internet gaming license from the Ontario Alcohol and Gaming Commission (AGCO).

The new license will allow online gambling operators, Kaizen’s international arm, to deploy Igaming services in Canadian provinces.

The license issued to Kaizen Gaming’s Canadian operations is valid for one year from August 17th to August 16th of this year and covers the Betano.ca website.

Kaizen and Betano join a number of other operators in securing a license in Ontario, which opened the regulated Igaming marketplace in April.

With the introduction of widespread legal online gambling in the state, the lottery’s monopoly on online gambling ended.

theScore, PointsBet, Bet365 PokerStars, SkillOnNet, BetVictor and others received license approval before the market opened, but secured approval months after launch.

In April, lottery and gaming operator Allwyn agreed to acquire a 36.75% stake in Betano from Greek lottery operator OPAP.
