Coljuegos shuts down 1,577 unlicensed sites in first half of 2022

Colombian regulator Coljuegos blocked 1,577 websites in the first half of 2022, but received record tax payments from sanctioned industries during what it described as a “historic” period. rice field.

The statistic was provided as part of the operator’s semi-annual hearing, which also revealed how much money it had collected through gambling taxes and fees.

The total amount collected by Coljuegos was COP359.7m, a year-on-year increase of 22.1%.

Most of this money (COP224.7m) went to Colombia’s social security system and COP69.5m to local or departmental health funds. COP34.3m went to the National Pension Fund and COP20.9m to the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Land-based games contributed 42% of the total collected at COP 151.1m. This was a 33% increase over the same period last year. This is because the land-based game operator earned him 1.6 billion COP in revenue in six months.
