STS revenue declines despite higher stakes in Q2 – Sports betting

Poland’s largest bookmaker, STS, reported a decline in net game revenue despite higher stakes in the second quarter.

Second quarter stakes were 1,110 million PLN, up 1.0% year-on-year, despite including Euro 2020 rescheduled in the second quarter of 2021. However, net game revenue, including gambling taxes and prizes, fell 16.6% to 138 million PLN.

The number of active users in the quarter was 375,000, down from 417,000 in the same period in 2021. In addition, new registrations were down 22.7% to 92,000, and first-time contributors were down 19.2% to 66,000.

In the first half of 2022, the game’s net revenue reached 296 million PLN, a slight increase from the same period in 2022.

This increase was caused by a spectacular drop in total stakes with operators to 2.19 billion PLN.

“We achieved very good performance earlier this year,” said Mateusz Juloszek, CEO of STS. “Compared to the same period last year, we have made a slight improvement in NGR (the amount bet by our customers minus the winnings, gambling and lottery taxes paid).

“It is worth noting that EURO 2020 took place during that period in 2021.

“We hope that later this year, a very attractive calendar of sporting events and the World Championships in Qatar will enable us to develop even better investment indicators, which will also have a positive impact on our financial results. . “
